Hi!

I run the code, and it prints the following:

(venv) qqcs@qqcs-pc:~/git/binary-clock-wallpaper$ ./set_binary_wallpaper.sh
09 -> 01001
06 -> 000110
UNKNOWN ROOT WINDOW TYPE DETECTED (Nemo-desktop), please file a bug

It is not related with this script. set_binary_wallpaper.sh uses nitrogen to set your wallpaper. Looks like nitrogen can't set wallpaper for your environment. You should report this issue to nitrogen as the error message says.

You can try another wallpaper setter like feh or xsetroot whatever you like.

 feh --bg-scale /path/to/wallpaper
